At Pet Wants, we're passionate about making dog food that supports great health during all stages of pets' lives. In addition to providing your dog with quality food, another way to help your pet enjoy the highest quality of life is by making playtime and games a regular part of your routine. Not only is this great for your pet's physical health, but it is also its mental well-being. Playing means your dog will get to enjoy quality time with you and avoid feeling bored due to a lack of stimulation.

If you're looking for some fun games to enjoy playing with your dog, both of you will thoroughly enjoy the following five options:

1. Tug of War

Even though it's by no means a new game, it's easy to forget just how much fun a dog can have playing tug of war. If you want to keep your dog engaged for as long as possible, letting your pet periodically win is the way to go. It's worth mentioning that most experts agree that the belief that tug of war games will make a dog aggressive or dominant is a myth.

2. Create an Agility Course

Whether it's a temporary one in your home or a permanent one outside, creating an agility course is the perfect way for your dog to get some quality exercise and training through playing. Another fun aspect of this game is you can get creative with using things around your house to create obstacles.

3. Chase Bubbles

Kids aren't the only ones who love chasing after bubbles. For just a couple of bucks, you can get a pack of bubble sticks and keep your pet very entertained. It shouldn't take long for your dog to catch on to the idea of popping the bubbles before they hit the ground.

4. Hide and Seek

Like tug of war, hide and seek is a classic game that dogs enjoy playing over and over. A big part of why is it provides an opportunity for a dog to use its natural scent tracking abilities. For dogs that haven't learned a "stay" command yet, you can get someone to help manage your dog as it gets the hang of this game. Chances are it will only take a few times of praising your dog when it finds you for your pet to get hooked on playing.

5. Play with a Flirt Pole

Despite its funny name, this device is actually a really great way to get your dog physically and mentally stimulated. You can easily find different heights, including options for both indoor and outdoor play. As with tug of war, letting your dog periodically win by getting the toy attached to the end of the pole is the best way to keep your pet interested in playing.

We hope that these games create lots of fun times for you and your dog!
