“A dog is a man's (and woman’s) best friend.” Even though busy schedules can make it difficult to find the time to take dogs out to play, there are just as many benefits for you as your pooch when you go to the dog park. Here are six reasons why it’s a great idea to head to the dog park with your furry best friend on a regular basis:

1. Take Time to Relax

Everyone seems to be busier than ever. With so many tasks at home and at work, it can be difficult to find time to just relax and enjoy life. Try making going to the dog park one of the items on your to-do list. That way you will plan time to take it easy and just play with your dog. Play time is a great way to free your mind and focus on the moment.

2. Meet New Friends

Dog owners tend to get along with other dog owners most of the time. In the Disney movie 101 Dalmatians, two dog owners end up getting married due to their chance meeting at a dog park. You may not find your one true love this easily, but you are bound to meet some new friends if you go to a dog park on a regular basis.

3. Get Some Exercise

Many of us spend most of our working day sitting in front of a computer screen. Going to the dog park can be a great way to bring physical activity back into your life. Make sure  you are running and playing with your dog when you go to the park so that you can get some exercise, too.

4. Bond with Your Family

Taking your spouse and kids along with you to the dog park can be a great bonding experience for everyone. Wecreate memories that last a lifetime when we spend time with the people we love most.

5. Train Your Dog

A dog park is a great place to train your dog. Naturally, your dog will want to roam free and meet as many other dogs as possible. However, it is important to teach your dog proper manners around their canine friends. The dog park can be a great place to brush up on your dog’s training.

6. Reconnect with Nature

Being out in nature has a way of relaxing your brain and keeping you happy. The more time you spend outside, the more vitamins you can receive from the sun. Going to the dog park will make you a happier and healthier person overall.

Don't wait another day, go take your dog to the dog park! Adding the habit of going to the dog park on a regular basis will be something that can benefit you just as much as your dog.
